Jewel of the Sierras

In Northern California, in the Sierra Mountains, there is this wonderful lake and gorgeous mountain, that in the spring time breakup, becomes almost a JEWEL in the crown of this mountain range!

Creating "en plein air", the weather is constantly changing. I was very blessed that I was where I was on this day, as the clouds sauntered across the sky, close to the latter part of the day, as the sun lowered herself into the horizon and trie to capture some of the glory of this grand mountain peak.
As with all my mural size plein air paintings, this 28x22 creation was created on my knees. Somewhat a reflection of the reverence I felt toward this entire scene
